Second Hand Watches.

Not used watches.  But watches with a second circle for a second hand: the poor man's chronograph.  Although normally I like to pretend that I know everything about everything, I really don't know how I feel about this style.  Here's what I'm talking about.

ANTIQUE EXCELLENT OMEGA SUB SECOND WATCH SWISS MADE VINTAGE RARE LUMINOUS DIAL $300

I kind of like that one, although I'mt not sure about the font of the numbers.  Sometimes the smallest little detail can ruin a watch for me, drives me crazy, and its always there.  But for $300 this would have been a smooth watch for work, and without the heavy price tag.  Here's another one that I like.

Boom, another Instagram.  This Glycine has a purple face, with an ivory second hand circle.  The date is a nice touch as well.  I really like it.

American Apparel

So I don't really like American Apparel.  Or at least I didn't think that I did.  I usually picture soft zipper hoodies, and basically a whole bunch of random clutter, none of which is too appealing.

But I went there yesterday, and was pleasantly surprised to learn about a new project of theirs.

Woodstock, Waynestock, Deadstock.

American Apparel is selling never-before-used vintage watches and sunglasses that for some reason never made it to retail shelves in years past, aka, deadstock.  Its awesome.  They have so many unique styles, and all with a great price.

My first instagram blog picture!!!  Big day over here at Daniel Byron headquarters.  But anyways, you need to check this out.  Every store has different stuff!

New Watches

So I stepped out for lunch today, and what was supposed to be a quick bite, naturally turned into some impromptu shopping.  I didn't end up buying anything, but I did stumble upon some new watch brands that I really like.

The first company is Mondaine, which is actually owned by the same people as Luminox.  Here are a few of my faves, prices ranging from $200-$500.

Mondaine

They look great, they're not overly big, and they are perfectly priced.  The next brand that I liked had some amazing pilot's watches.  Check out these two watches by Aristo:

These are a bit busy, but handsome nonetheless.  And again, at around $350 you're buying a real watch, but without going too overboard, relatively speaking.

And lastly, once I have the corner office on the 50th floor, this will be on my desk.

Expensive ($700 on Etsy), useless, and beautiful: I want it.

Danger by name, Danger by repuation

So you know in middle school, when the girls are taller than you, you're rocking glow-in-the-dark braces, and you don't have a single chest hair?  Its the worst right.  Well, you know in high school, when nothing has changed?  Yeah, that was definitely worse. I didn't have my mojo quite yet.

Young Austin Powers and I were actually Pen Pals at the time, confiding in each other through this difficult time.  We lived relatively similar lives - dentistry aside - and we vowed that one day things would be different.  And lets just say, for young Austin, it all worked out just fine.

Now I can't say that I've quite kept up, but hopefully I'm not too far behind.  No braces, I'm tall enough to lie about being six feet, and well lets just skip the chest hair for now.  But Austin has always been a good role model for me over the years.  He always compelled me to work on my style, and he always reminded me that having unprotected sex with a large number of partners while also experimenting with hallucinogens isn't just a thing of the past.

But for now, now that I've had my bit of fun, we can just focus on the style part if thats OK with you guys.

This guy definitely has mojo.

Edwin Quilted Vest

A different kind of mojo sure, but mojo nonetheless.  I've never heard of Edwin, but I like what I see, so take a look around.  And this might be the best beard I've seen all year, and I love the texture of the vest - soft and inviting - perfectly juxtaposed against his ruggedly handsome looks.

Feeling nauseous after that last sentence?  Lets go with a classic crew neck to right the ship.  A buddy of mine, a lady in fact (no big deal), recently pointed me towards http://www.onlynylives.com/  This company makes clothing on the west side of Manhattan, using quality materials, and in limited quantities.  I want this sweatshirt.

Only USA Raglan $68

I also want this t-shirt.

Sportswear Tee $32

They have a bunch of other cool stuff, so make sure to take a look around as well.  And lastly I've posted this next item before, just not in this color, but I think it would go just great with these tops!

Clae Payton $80

So no matter what your mojo situation is, we can still try to look good right?
