Preppy

I will buy these shoes in the next 6 months.

Those are great, but I think we need some color.

Fun socks! But now we need some pants, I usually just go standard JCrew Khakis, as I'll try to stand out elsewhere. No picture necessary. Lets move on.

If you have money to waste, I like this belt from Smathers and Branson.

They really need to update their website, oh well.

Lets finish up with a beautiful shirt.

New England Shirt Company is super cool. Classic looks, all hand made in New England.

Happy Passover,

Today's Score

I hit up a few vintage stores in Jamaica Plain today, and here's a taste of what I got.

A set of vintage glasses, a YSL tie, and this great new book. And don't worry about the other stuff I got, its just tacky St. Patty's Day garb. Boys will be boys, after all.

Anyways, I love this tie. Here's a closer look:

I normally don't love having the logo on the front of a tie like that, but when its Yves Saint Laruent, I'll make an exception. Oh, and a tag this sexy mustn't be overlooked.

I can't wait to wear it, such a great find. And hopefully, armed with my new book, this is just the beginning of a very auspicious Spring season of thrifting.

I also own the New York version, and its great. I'm excited. If you can't see the author, its written by "Christine Chitnis".

And last, but maybe not least, check out this set of slightly tattered glasses.

Anything with a crest is obviously cool, everybody knows that. And while one of the crests is pretty faded, its very rare to find a set of 4 vintage glasses, so I'm happy.

Happy weekend ya'll,

A Few Watches

Remember that watch I posted a few days ago? The vintage Hamilton Diver's watch? Well ever since I spotted that one, I've been looking for more like it. Here are a few of my favorites.

Avia Marino Scuba Watch $223

Colorful bands are all over the place on JCREW and other mainstream companies, this is better. But if that's a bit out there for you, here's a more conventional choice.

Casio Lumi-Diver's Sub-Style Watch $135

Looks like a nice weekend watch. Timex has a very similar look that you can find at JCREW, and the face reminds me of a classic Omega Seamaster.

And lastly, a slightly different look from Fortis.

Fortis Vintage Pilot Professional flieger Watch $221

Totally retro, totally cool.

Spring Shirts and Plaid Jackets

I spent last weekend in NYC. So naturally, I went shopping.

I spent most of my time vintage searching in Brooklyn, Williamsburg specifically, and here's what I got:

Woolrich Jacket with plaid lining.

Johnson Woolen Mills in Green Buffalo Plaid

And lastly a few nice spring button downs.

Cool right?

Anyways, on a completely different note, this weekend I did some crafty repurposing. First I found a beautiful women's belt at Goodwill, and decided I wanted to use it for something. This is what I came up with, nothing too revolutionary, but pretty nonetheless.

My first venture into the world of botanicals, hopefully not my last.

Long Weekend

No, I don't have any perfect weekend-getaway clothing for you. I just meant, blog-wise, I kind of took a long weekend, so I apologize for that. But lets get back into it, shall we.

Speckled Fleece Cardigan - Reigning Champ for Steven Alan $138

Cardigans, what a great way to show off a nice t-shirt! Like this for example.

Vintage Wilson T-Shirt $10

So cool. Hard to tell if it will fit, but I may have to risk it.

Jansport Canvas Duffel Bag $80

You should check out this Jansport Heritage line, good look, good price.

Moving on.

Nike Air Vortex Vintage $85

These are great. If you've been clicking on the links, you've noticed that most of these picks are from the Steven Alan website. If you haven't been clicking on the links, you should, and you should also browse around. They have some great finds.

OK one last thing, totally unrelated. I love the number 5, and I really want to buy this wall hanging.

Number 5 Flashcard $35

I've been collecting vintage knick knacks that feature the number 5. This may be my next addition. I wish it were only $20.

Oh well.
