Towels

A few weeks ago I posted some Steven Alan beach towels, and well, a few of my friends gave me some heat for it. Excuuuuuse me for appreciating a beautiful towel.  I found more towels that I like, and they could even be considered manly.  Pendleton strikes again.

Bath Towels $48

There are a few others that I like as well, so make sure to click the link.

Military Watch Company

A few days ago I wrote about a black watch with a classic Rolex look.  It was a little more expensive than I would like, and seems to be impossible to find.  If you haven't yet, check it out.

Jam Home Made Diamond Watch $363

But recently on needsupply.com I found a similar look for a better price.

Submariner with Bracelet in Black $250

I wish some writing were on the face, but its definitely attractive.

More Ebay Fun

Its been a while since I posted a few watches, and I think I've found a couple on Ebay that might just catch your eye.  A while ago I wrote about a few watches with colorful faces.  And this next vintage timex is beautiful in red.

VINTAGE TIMEX RED MENS 1975 CHROME PLATED MECHANICAL WATCH $100

I wish I could get better pictures from Ebay, but you gotta work with what you got.  This next watch is from a brand I've never heard of, but I like it as a uniquely styled military watch.

VINTAGE LORUS by SEIKO MILITARY STYLE BLACK FACED 24 HOUR WATCH $80

As you can tell by the backgrounds, these watches come from the same vendor.  They have a giant inventory of vintage timex watches if you want to take a look around.

DB

I Want it

Don't ever let somebody tell you that spending a few hours on Ebay is a waste of time.  It can however turn into a waste of money, but only if you spend on things that aren't worth spending on.  This however, is just the opposite of that.

Grand Tetons Vintage T $23

It can be a little hard to see, but the background has a slight tint of pink and blue.  This shirt is really cool.

DB

What Time is it?

Game Time.

Have you ever heard of the website mxyplyzyk.com?  I stumbled upon it a few years back, and still have no idea how to pronounce it.  They have a ton of funky stuff for the house/office, so its definitely worth taking a look around.  Check out these two cool super cool clocks I found.

That retro timepiece will set you back $50.  This next one costs $60.

Both are pretty nifty, but for some reason I'm in love with the bubble.  They have a few other clocks, as well as a long list of crazy contraptions -- some more functional than others.  So take a look around, and if you ever forget the name of the site, just google a bunch of consonants.

Outside the Box

So my oldest brother gave me a flask of Hennessy for Christmas a few years back.  I know right, what a guy.  But to make the gift even sexier, he put it in a Cohiba cigar box and then wrapped that.  I had fun pretending to enjoy the Henny, and the box now adds a touch of cool to my dresser.  See what I mean?

Cohiba Box $15

Since then, I've always kept an eye out for vintage boxes like that.  Right now I have an old champagne box in my book case as well.  Something like this.

Wine Box Hinged BOLLINGER Champagne Madison Fordee En 1829 $8

But these are both child's play compared to this next one.  I want it so badly, its too cool.

Dom Perignon Box $30

Someday you might be able to afford the actual bottles of champagne, or a few Cuban cigars, but until then, the box is better than nothing.

Bottle Opener Made Easy

So I first stumbled upon this type of opener at a liquor store in Topsham ME.  Moose head Ale was advertising a free T-shirt and "Credit Card Bottle Opener" with every purchase of an 18 pack.  Always a sucker for free things and cheap beer, I obviously went for it.  Unfortunately I don't think those are for sale anywhere, so I went looking for another one that I like.

Credit Card Bottle Opener $5

These openers are awesome because they fit smoothly into any wallet.  I didn't carry around keys for most of college, so this was the perfect alternative.  Add an inviting little monkey man, and whats not to love.

DB

Slip on Swag

A few days ago I posted about a few beach slip-ons that I liked.  I think I've found a new favorite.  Check out this collaboration between Generic Man and Comme des Garcons.

Slip-On

They come in a variety of bright colors, and look super clean.  But if you're like me, and can't really make a decision on something unless a creepy model is wearing them three times in the same picture, then check this out.

OK now I'm definitely sold.

DB

Nothing Generic About It

By now I've posted at least a few items from Generic Surplus.  I love them for their Mid Deck Boat Shoes.  But most of what they carry is rather casual.  If you're looking for something a bit more grown up, then its time for your shoe Bar Mitzvah.  Generic Man is basically the Purple label of Generic Surplus, and its all business.

If you're man enough to buy one, Mazel Tov.

DB

P.S. From what I can tell, you can buy straight from Generic Surplus, but will have to look for a third party vendor for Generic Man.

Norse

Alright guys, I've been slacking.  I started Memorial Day Weekend a bit early, and really let things slide there for a couple of days.  But I'm back, rejuvenated, re-energized, refreshed, and ready to roll.  So let's do this.

Norse Visby Sweater $155

Perfect for your inner Scandinavian, or for a chilly evening on the water.

Happy Tuesday, gotta love the short work week.

Folex

My last post was about a Rolex covered in leather.  This watch is just a Rolex look-alike.  I think its strange to have all the writing on the bottom half of the face, but I love this in all black.

Jam Home Made Diamond Watch $368

You can also get it with a white face, or in a ton of other colors.

A Bracelet I Might Wear

I've said before that I don't really see myself as a bracelet guy.  But, to every rule, there's always an exception.  In this case, its a very expensive exception.  A while ago I spotted this "watch" at some boutique on the lower east side.  I'm struggling to remember the name of the store, which is annoying me.  Either way, take a look.

You have to click on the link to really see it, but basically its a classic rolex style watch, completely covered in leather.  Pretty cool right?

DB

All About the Strap

Its incredible how much variation you can have with one type of simple watch.  Instead of getting a timex with a normal colored band, why not go metal?

VINTAGE TIMEX MILITARY 60'S STYLE INDIGLO WATCH WITH POLISHED STAINLESS BAND $50

I like the black on silver.  Its sexy.

DB

Would you Wear Mesh?

So as the summer approaches, casual footwear is a must.  I hate writing sentences like that, but fashion blogging is well, fashion blogging, so I have to live with it I guess.  But let's move on.

My question to you all is, would you wear a mesh slip on?  Sounds like weird lingerie, but I'm talking about this.

Seavees Baja Slip on $78

Or perhaps you prefer this next option, which is much cheaper.

I like the first one better, but either way I still think I'd steer clear of both, and go with this.

I like it in red, although softer colors are offered.

Man Cave

Whether you're still in college, or decorating your first apartment, a few manlier decorations can't hurt.  Your apartment shouldn't look like your dorm room, but certainly a few things can overlap.  Maybe something like this.

HALEX two-sided Dart Board - Cricket/Baseball $65

Now I'm a little fuzzy on the rules of this game, but it looks really cool.  And for the traditionalist, normal darts are on the backside.  Why it says China on the bottom though, you got me.

And if your room needs a little soft lighting, why buy a stupid light from target, when you could get something like this.

And to keep things really classy, why not adorn your probably quite dirty bathroom with this practical/functional/thoughtful condom dispenser.

And now that you have all this cool stuff, I'm sure you'll have no problem getting a bunch of guys to come over and hang out.  Girls? Not so sure.

Age Appropriate

This blog is no stranger to weekend duffels.  Soon enough we'll be in double digits.  My picks have ranged from super casual, to super classy.

For a classier example, check this out.

Washed Canvas and Leather Duffle $348

If your grandma gave you something like this, and you feel a little snooty wearing it around town, I think I finally found something that perfectly borders youth and maturity.  Check it out.

Happy Travels,

DB

Abstract

Like I've said, over and over and over again, I hate labels, and I usually dislike language.  I like to keep it simple, and to keep it abstract.

SAWDUST LONDON S/S REGULAR $30

Sorry for the late start today, damn day job keeping me down.

Vancouver Vacation

Sorry middle bro, but my oldest brother is usually the one I look to for fashion advice.  And recently he showed me this awesome store from Vancouver called Inventory.  I took a look through their site, and while I liked a lot of it, here are a few of my faves.

I said a few days ago that I'm in the market for a new pack, and this is now officially on the list.

Anyways, the other day my friend told me that I shouldn't hold back on the blog, if I like something, just say that I like it, even if it is a bit fashion forward. Well I think these fall into that category.

April showers, May flowers!  But stupid expensive, and a little aggressive.  I like these next one's better.

These are super cool.  They're stylish, and built for activity.  And lastly, why not throw in some fun socks for good measure.

Shout out to my brother John for recommending the store.

Barbour Alternative

If you went to school in New England, you've definitely seen at least a few prepsters, boys and girls, wearing a Barbour jacket around campus on a brisk fall day.  Your dad might even rock one as well. Something like this perhaps.

Classic Beaufort Jacket $ 400

But let's say you want to wear something different.  Similar maybe, but with a little personal flavor.  I like this option by Penfield.

I love the bright colors, and the price only makes it better.  $225 retail.

Until the Afternoon

I won't be posting tomorrow morning, so I figured I should throw something up for you early risers.  I know my last post was shoes, but lets keep it going anyways.  I love Tretorn, and I want these in blue.

Tretorn Kasper Leather Shoe - Men's $99

Slightly less expensive than a similar pair I posted a few days ago.

But I still want to find cheaper.

DB

New Kicks

I know that a lot of people have been gravitating towards the "fashion sneaker" these days, myself included.  I don't know who else has dubbed it that, but you know what I'm talking about. Seavees, Generic Surplus, Vans, Converse, etc.  But while that's fine and all, sometimes you just want some kicks.  I like these.

These were actually designed for Paul Rodriguez Jr., the professional skateboarder.  He just also happense to be the son of the fat comedian Paul Rodriguez.

DB

Reversible

Sometimes the price of an item can be justified if it comes with multiple uses.  A Jacket that turns into a vest, a pair of lame zipper pants that turn into shorts, or perhaps a reversible spring jacket from Highland.

REVERSIBLE ZIP JACKET $435

Pretty cool right?  Even with these two looks, its still too expensive.  Nonetheless, I thought it was worth posting.

Welcome to Wayne's World

If you haven't seen Wayne's World the movie, go watch it right now.  And then watch the second one.  And then watch the first two Austin Powers, and then don't watch the Love Guru - I like Mike Myers.

Now that you're all caught up, we can continue.  I love a crew-neck sweat shirt.  The hoodie is so 90's.  But instead of wearing your alma mater, a golf club, a town in cape cod, etc, why not try this homage to the hometown of the legendary Wayne Campbell.

AURORA ILLINOIS IS LAND OF LINCOLN HOMETOWN WAYNE'S WORLD CREWNECK Sweatshirt $25

Make sure to pair it with excessively ripped jeans.

DB

A Cool Back Pack

So I recently purchased an old bike to wheel around town.  In order to carry my lap top while I'm on the road, I need a back pack.  A while ago I posted a few packs that I liked, but I think I've got a new favorite.

Lars Goran $200

It comes with a dedicated lap-top pocket, and has plenty of other nooks and crannies.  I'm officially adding this to my birthday wish list.

Blue Shoes

Chukka boots have been in style for a while now.  Mine got incredibly beat up over the past couple winters, which at first looks cool, but now looks gross.  Time for an upgrade.  Check out this pair by Pointer.

Malcolm Navy $115

I've realized that for some reason I keep gravitating towards stylish shoes with white soles.  You can be casual when you want, but always have a clean look.

This next pair that I found is more aggressive than anything I own, but I saw someone wearing them recently and they caught my eye.

Logan 3 $213

I'm looking for a cheaper alternative right now, but I want to try this style.

DB

Sunny Sports

By now you've probably noticed that I'm always looking for weird socks.  On needsupply.com earlier today I found a pair by Sunny Sports that I really want.

Long Rib Sox In Navy $40

These are too expensive unfortunately, so I went looking for more options from this company.  Usually I don't really see the point of buying fancy ankle socks, but I think these next ones might just be worth it.

SS12 Heel Buffalo Short Sox Navy $35

But again, they're $35.  Annoying, and it only gets worse.  I love this next item, but I don't think I'll ever spend over $100 dollars on a towel...

Who buys that?  Maybe when we're all 30 year old millionaires...

DB

Clae Ellington

My buddy sent me a link to this website the other day, and I found a few pairs of shoes that I really like.  Check out this boot by Clae Ellington.

Chambers $115

I wish the front tip was the same color as the rest, but I like it nonetheless, and it comes in a variety of colors.  If you don't need a boot, then perhaps you would prefer this.

Ellington $90

And if your feeling really adventurous, why not go bold with these.

The cooler version of myself would buy those.
